Casa Tortuga

Located on Soliman Bay,
Mexico on the Riviera Maya
South of Cancun and Akumal
Casa Tortuga is on the beach.
| Casa Tortuga is a magical place, sitting with its back to the world, facing the turquoise blue Caribbean Sea. You will enjoy complete privacy here. Few neighbors, no telephone; the internet and television traded for a magnificent view, wide sandy beach, ocean breeze and good Mayan hammock. Is this the Mexico you are searching for? If so, Casa Tortuga, located at the “wild” southern end of Solimon Bay is a perfect spot. |

Every day brings a different experience, take it in. The luxury of privacy in the open sky outdoor shower, catnapping in a hammock with a cold drink slipping from your hand, late breakfasts of tropical fruits, a long afternoon on the second floor veranda buried in a good book with a cool breeze coming in off the ocean. At night, lie on the beach and bury your bare feet in the warm sand, take in the incredible night sky.
Casa Tortuga is a two level beach house which comfortably sleeps 10 people. The main house is located on the upper level and includes the main living area, kitchen and dining areas, master bedroom, guest bedroom and sleeping alcove.

|
The romantic and extremely private master bedroom boasts a comfortable queen size bed and private bathroom.
The second level guest bedroom is also private and for families a comfortable sleeping area with double bed is located just outside the bedroom (off of the living area). This is area is perfect for those with small children who want the children close by and also want their own retreat, or for families with older children or teenagers. The main house bathroom is large with double sinks and a magnificent shower. |

On the beach level are two bright and colorful bedrooms. These bedrooms open up to enjoy the breezes but are also air conditioned for your comfort. Each is furnished with comfortable queen size bed. The beach level bedrooms are separated by a large shared bathroom that is entered from each room. Also on the beach level is a separate bathroom, accessible from the large beach level patios.
Casa Tortuga offers a seemless flow between interior and exterior spaces with many windows, the large patio and second level verandah. The natural beauty of the area is highlighted through the use of warm traditional hardwoods in the exposed beam and pillar design, and through the use of tropical color; lime, mango, banana and hibiscus,on the walls, beds, floors and tile. Hand painted and richly colorful talavera tile in cobalt blue, café, mango and green cover the kitchen and bathroom counter tops and highlight the large showers. Exotic artwork and paintings of Mexico accent the walls. The second level of Casa Tortuga is roofed by the traditional “palapa” or thatched grass roof. Beautiful, warm and artful, the palapa roof is visually stunning, but also very weather resistant and comfortable.
