I think when I was diving in Cozumel in the early 9Os, I might have heard of the term Message Board. Figured it was just a bunch of computer nerds.

Then, I got my first computer in 99, and the world library opened up in my little hermits castle.

My memory is foggy, but I remember him with a musical web page that told about his family and adventures in Mexico; I think I found him to be the most intruiging and helpful poster on somebody else's board(probly locoG). Hell I was so naive about computer use I was amazed. What's a Link? Shoot I am just a redneck ijit.

Then, at some point he started his own board sometime around 01????
anybody remember.???

I read it all, I wonder if it is stored out there in the clouds of the internet? the trip reports then were extremely helpful and we refound Akumal, (first DRIVE-BYE visit 1985 on our honeymoon) drove down every road and trail with a little help from my (cyber) friends and now discovered Xcalak.

Gosh Smitty!!! Remember when Bill used to get trashed for giving us "weather reports with satellite pictures"? Or was criticised for "knowing too much about the Roo", "who was he to be giving us advice on restaurants, or telling us about places he's stayed while in the Roo"? I'm glad he started his own message board. Yup! He was just too knowledable and helpful! Laughing

another thought:

Bill-boarders are.......independent copycats.

we like to do our own thing, but when we find something good we are patrons, we go back and use it again, and are not afraid to share it with likeminded others.

bill this cooperative spirit is much of your doing, your attitude. you have created a community here. hope you can forget the spammers and the occasional drinkin man posts. thanks.
