Has anyone driven down from the US recently? I am particularly interested in any change noticed since the change over in customs personnel and procedure as well as any construction along the route. We enter the country at Los Indios or Columbia bridge.

When are you leaving? We aren't planning to leave until February 8. We have a grandson with a birthday on February 7, and he thinks we have to be around for it - like always Smile

We didn't drive last year but have friends that did. From what I was told , things were pretty much the same as the preveious years. We did notice that they were building a new large Customs stop on 180 past the spot where the roads from Matamoros and Valle Hermosa merge together. It looked like it was going to be pretty high tech. I recently read that they have replaced 300 Customs agents with new, better trained ones. It will be interesting to get reports from people who go down this fall to see if they are cracking down or not.
Here is the new aduana

Thanks. Yes, we saw the new customs station last year. We are interested in any recent news since the replacement of all of the customs officers. They are weighing and photographing each vehicle evidently.
