As I was sitting in my living room, contemplating the single-digits above zero, fahrenheit, it occurred to me that I had yet to do a report of our July trip. Just thinking about it made me feel a bit less chilled. So I hopped onto the computer and whipped one out today. Yeah...I know I'm late with it. But usually I'm later still. At least this is done a couple months before our next trip, instead of a week or so.
Not wanting to unnecessarily fill up Bill's servers, I keep my reports elsewhere. Here's the link:

Thanks, Craig. Nice report. BTW, the voladores(fliers) are from Papantla, a town north and west of Veracruz, and they are Totonac Indians, not Maya. We talked to them once, and they have rotating groups in and out of Tulum. At one time it was a traditional act of worship. Now it is used as entertainment. |

Thanks, Judy. Correction noted and made. I think I knew some of the details, but not as completely or in so many words! You're a great friend on these boards. Hope to meet you one of these days. |

We went to Papantla once for a couple of days and stayed in a lovely hotel on the square and visited the El Tajin ruins nearby. It was a good experience. |
