Centro Ecologico Akumal (www.ceakumal.org) and the Yucatan Environmental Foundation host a two day conference on Sustainable Development in the Riviera Maya (south from Cancun to Tulum) on February 17 & 18, 2006.

The workshop will be valuable to anyone interested in green development anywhere in the world since it will cover principles and practices of green living and sustainable building for homes and businesses.

Complete details on the conference and registration are posted at
www.sustainableworkshop.blogspot.com.

I live in Madison, Wisconsin and work for RENEW Wisconsin (www.renewwisconsin.org), a nonprofit that promotes renewable energy. In addition, I get to Akumal 2 or 3 times a year to volunteer for CEA. The workshop allows me combine my professional life with my real passion -- the ocean and Akumal.

Sounds great Ed. Wish we could make it, but we'll miss it by a week and a half. We'll definitely be stopping in at CEA while we're there. Have a great holiday.

Sorry that we won't cross paths, Joe. It would be good to see you again after such a long time.

Hola,

Think about coming down to Xcalak Ed. We met at the Willy St Fair and I mentioned we had a house in Xcalak. We will be driving down from Madison in February.

I'm thinking about it. Gringo Bob who's from WI will be in that area too in February. Can I take a bus from Akumal? How long would it take?
