Anyone have a favorite recipe for Sangrita? I'm having my in-laws over at Christmas and I want to continue my quest to educate them in all things Yucatecan. (Haven't decided what I'm cooking yet, maybe somthing like chipotle glazed turkey. I love messing with their New England palates. ) |

Gracias Amiga, I think you hit it! But since I have a bumper crop of killer jalopanos in the freezer (the garden was smokin' this year) I believe I may have to puree one of those puppies for this instead of the piquin. Should raise the hair on some of these old yankee's heads. But I show some mercy, I have a lot of habaneros too! |

How about some cranberry salsa to go with that Turkey....
2 Cups of Finely Chopped Fresh Cranberries
10 Cherry Tomatoes Chopped Finely.
½ Cup Sugar
3 Tbs Fresh Lime Juice
½ Tsp Cumin
4 Tbs Minced Red Onion, I like more
4 Tbs Chopped Fresh Cilantro
3 Finely Chopped Serrano Chiles or 1 Jalapeño Chile
Chopped Garlic to taste.
Home Made Chips From Corn Totillas Fried on the Stove top with oil.
Hope you like it, |

That's my favorite Bill, I still have that recipe from a few years ago and made it Saturday night for friends! It is always a hit! |

That recipe sounds wonderful, Bill.
I served cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving dinner at my house in Mexico last year and found it impossible to explain to my non-American guests what they are. There is no word for cranberry in Spanish |

Bill, perfect timing. I just was asked to provide the cranberry sauce for Thursday's family feast (I'm also bringing Queso Fundido al Tequila). While I will provide the "normal" version for the timid, I am definitely going to challenge some palates. Thanks |

A post T-day update: Bill, the cranberry salsa was very well received (but maybe not as well as the cranberry margaritas. ) And Ann, love the sangrita. I'll be making it on a regular basis for sure. Thanks again. |
