Barry, looking forward to meeting you. Were you affected by the fire? How's Scott doing? Are Rick and Joyce there? How are they? They were our next door neighbors when we were there.

As Heidi stated on the other board it was confined to 3 palapas. Hopefully Scott is going to evac to the states today, he is getting minimal treatment here. I haven't run into Rick and Joyce yet but I have heard they are staying at Lesters home.

Sharoonie, The rooftop will be ready! We have to get Joe, Nan & Bill up there. I know that you guys, Lydia and Barry have already been there. My brother & sister- in -law will probably be there too! Maybe we can recruit some others!!! We will definitely have to touch base before we all head down.

Sharoonie, our flight gets in at 12:30p on the 25th. We're staying at the Reef. We'll be stopping at La Floresta on the way down for a quick infusion of la cochina Mexicana, and the Chedraui for some supplies, so we should be arriving late afternoon, tired but happy (we'll be getting up at 3am to catch our flight). Maybe we can gather up the usual suspects (you know who you are...)and hook up for dinner? Lets figure out the where and when. This is going to be wondeful Very Happy

This suspect and mi esposo will more than likely be at happy hour...can't think why not. I am not sure of our dates yet so I don't know how many we will have together - but I am sure they will feel like eternity each morning and yet we will complain that there just wasn't enough time together when it is all said and done Smile

I will be in the Yucatan from Feb 19 - Mar 21. Unfortunately, I won't be anywhere near Akumal until the last 3 days. The first 11 days I'll be on a Yucatecan Culinary Tour that ranges from Isla Mujeres to Campeche. I'm really looking forward to that. After that we'll be mostly at the house. Some of our kids and grandkids are coming for the last week.

Ooh, I'm jealous. A culinary tour would be heaven. I've become such a fanatic for Mexican food (5 cookbooks and counting) and enjoy cooking it so much that I've even considered opening a Yucatecan restaurant up here where all you can find is Tex/Mex.
Have a great time. Good luck with the house (would love to hear how the island is recovering) and sorry that we'll miss you.
