Here is an email from Posada de Freud in Playa Del Carmen. Sounds like they will be open on Monday! They are located at 5a Av. entre calle 8 y 10 norte. Lori

Hello everybody,

Here’s our after hurricane Wilma report. Again many thanks for all your
concerned emails and pone calls. It gives us a very warm feeling knowing our
friends are thinking about us.

First the good news. We are all safe and in good health (or at least not
worse than we were before Wilma). Playa has not been destroyed, flattened or
wiped of the face of the earth. Yes, there is damage but in most cases it is
not irreparable and a lot has already been fixed. As I am writing this we
already have water and electricity in 80% of the town. The roads have been
cleared of fallen trees,leaves, palapa roofs, road signs etc.

The ATV Jungle tour reopened this morning with the usual four tours a day.
The hotel will be open as soon as we have taken care of a few repairs and
have put on a fresh layer of paint. Nothing like a category four hurricane
to clean up the place! We expect to re-open the hotel before Monday the
31st. As for our friends in Playa that also own businesses, to give you an
idea: I just had coffee at Java Joe’s, had dinner at Babe’s yesterday and
the Tequila Barrel was serving drinks on Tuesday night while you could watch
the World Series.

The bad news is that Cancun and Cozumel have been hit pretty bad. We have
not been there yet but it seems it will take them a bit longer to get back
on their feet. We have no doubt they are as resilient as Playa is and I am
sure they will be ready for business in no time.

So, please spread the news that we’re still here, alive and kicking and more
than ready for the high season.
