Zen del Mar is a stunning Mexican modern masterpiece in design and furnishings. This luxury Villa is situated on a secluded private beach in Jade Bay yet within walking distance along the beach into the town of Akumal . This amazing villa offers the luxury furnishings and services for a special holiday on the Mexican Caribbean. The owners of Zen del Mar have designed this Villa after years of providing luxury rentals at the adjacent villa; Casa del Sol Naciente. This spacious 4,800 square foot home with five bedroom suites and en-suite bathrooms can comfortably accommodate up to 14 people From the moment you see Zen del Mar’s claret red painted exterior, historically used by the Mayans to promote good energy, you will begin to relax. Hardwood double Doors and a welcoming stone archway greet you with a feeling of being on vacation in Mexico . The floor plan of Zen del Mar is a designed synergy of indoor and outdoor spaces that maximize the ability to be outdoors and indoors all at the same time. Sliding glass doors disappear into the wall reveals to create wide open spaces to the 60 foot long pool, the lounging patio, the sand patio and mahogany hardwood Lounge chairs. The Villa design was influenced by the work of the famed Mexico City Architect, Ricardo Legorreta. The design marries elements of modern Mexican architecture with local Mayan craftsmanship. The designers, who have traveled extensively, have used pieces from global destinations and the world of fashion to create a different type of beach house. |

Elevated Floor Plan: Zen del Mar takes advantage of Ocean views by subtle elevation plays for expansive family living. The Living room opens up to a covered exterior Living room of two cushion-covered couches, adjacent to the pool, making it easy to be part of the outdoors and not be directly in the sun. |

The first floor: is designed with an open-floor plan which includes a bedroom suite, a large living room, a gracious indoor dining room with a breakfast bar, a large kitchen and artisan-crafted powder room. This floor flows into the outdoor dining room, cocktail area, living room and pool patio.

The Kitchen: is equipped with two sinks and all modern appliances. The kitchen has a cooking area and a serving area, with its own service / breakfast bar. Upon arrival, the outdoor refrigerator is stocked with Soft Drinks and Cold Beer. Condiments and cooking staples such as sugar, salt, spices, sauces etc. are replenished by the staff. High quality restaurant dishes and utensils are provided. Bottled drinking water is provided and refreshed daily by the staff. Chef Service to buy fresh ingredients, prepare and serve lunch or dinner is available upon request at a nominal charge. |
Outdoor Barbecue Kitchen: Zen del Mar has a fully covered outdoor kitchen / grill area located next to the indoor kitchen food preparation area, where meals can be prepared and grilled. The 4 foot built-in charcoal barbecue grill is directly overlooking the outdoor dining room with an ocean view. A small refrigerator accommodates wine and beer for meals in the outdoor dining area. Outdoor Dining: Should you choose to dine outside, there is a large hand made table that can seat 14 people. This area is under a roof – protecting it from the mid-day sun.

The indoor Dining Room has a unique hardwood tree-trunk table that can accommodate 14 people. Local craftsmen found, harvested and cured the giant tree trunks and set into the table the glass pieces that make this table a remarkable work of art. The Living Room has a capacious seating and entertainment area. The large Zen rock, was a Gift from the Sea, and proudly captures the spirit of this Villa. The Entertainment Center includes a TV, VCR+DVD player and a 5-disk CD player.

ZEN Pool Power: The pool is a swimmer’s delight as it is a unique 60 feet in length. There is a marked swimmer’s lane, an infinity edge with a waterfall edge and two dark blue tiled lounge chairs are built into the pool steps. At the pool’s edge, find ten mahogany hardwood lounge chairs. Spa services have a home in the Zen Spa Beach Palapa on the sand, next to the Sea. It is both quiet and partially hidden with Sea Grapes - the perfect place for the five complimentary massages provided by a professional Masseur

Spa services have a home in the Zen Spa Beach Palapa on the sand, next to the Sea. It is both quiet and partially hidden with Sea Grapes - the perfect place for the five complimentary massages provided by a professional Masseur. Ocean Kayaking: The beach at Jade Bay is a combination of sand and natural rocks, Walk directly from the Villa into the water with ocean shoes and get into one of the two, 2-person ocean kayaks kept on the property for your use. The water is clear; it is possible to see the fish and the coral reef from the surface. For snorkeling, you are part of the second largest reef in the world, Jade Bea ch is a “fish hotel” – please be respectful in the water as it is a living reef. Four Bedroom Suites and Balconies Upstairs: U pstairs at Zen del Mar find four private Bedroom Suites with large private bathrooms and exterior living spaces overlooking the Caribbean Sea . Special attention has been given to the bed design, with unique bed linens and fine sheets of 400 plus thread counts. Each bedroom has a mini-refrigerator, a security safe, a satellite TV and en-suite bathrooms with two sinks, magnifying mirror and hairdryer. All bedrooms are air-conditioned. The Dream Suite has two beds. A King sized Bed with a hardwood headboard has a perfect view of the ocean, and a Double bed is set into a Mayan-red niche with luxury linens. Large sliding glass doors open up to the balcony partly shaded with wooden sticks. This large terrace provides a place to sit, read or dream in a hammock. The private bathroom has a large shower and a handmade marble bath tub. The Gratitude Suite has a King size Bed with a local hardwood headboard and artisan-crafted hardwood canopy facing the Caribbean Sea . It also has a Single bed for lounging or additional sleeping. Sliding glass doors open to a wide terrace with two wooden Lounge chairs and a hammock suspended from the wood Palapa ceiling as well a an exterior cement bed with a mattress that can be made up for you to sleep outside. The Joy Suite surveys the ocean from a King sized room directly facing the Caribbean Sea . A writing desk space has been built into the wall for computer use. A built in single bed can be used as a sofa or made up as a bed for an additional person to sleep in this room. The Joy Suite shares a large covered balcony with the Tranquility Suite. The Tranquility Suite has a King size Bed with an oversized Bathroom with a vaulted ceiling and a handmade tub for two. The sliding glass door from the bedroom opens to a second outside shower which is tucked into the balcony wall providing privacy and ocean view. AStairwell to the Stars takes you up to the rooftop for the widest ocean vistas on Jade Bay . Here you will find a Palapa covered Bar area with two large seated couches. A Star gazing double bed made of cement, on the opposite side of the roof, was designed to lay on with an air mattress to watch the stars in all their glory as they appear in the Mexican sky. |
